Is the postoperative period very painful and how many days can I return to my daily life?

Rhinoplasty is a process that is completed with very little pain.  In your 1st week after surgery, your plaster and tampon are removed and the nose is taped back with protective bands. The second bandage is removed after a week. Normally, 7-10 days after surgery, most patients can return to their daily lives.

Is there a lot of swelling and bruising after surgery?

Although the swelling that increases gradually in the first 3 days after the operation is in almost everyone, these swellings gradually decrease after the 3rd day and your face returns to normal in the 1st week on average. Although bruising is not in every patient, your skin structure and your skin’s reaction to trauma are very important in bruising. Bruises also disappear between 10-14 days. 

Will I have breathing problems after surgery?

In the postoperative period, although you may have nasal obstructions from time to time due to the shells and stitches in the nose for up to 6 months, this situation is not permanent. Your allergy status that existed before the surgery will not be improved with this surgery. 

I live outside Istanbul, how will my surgery process be?

We make an appointment for patients living  outside of Istanbul to be evaluated 1-2 days before the operation and to perform the necessary examinations. They should stay in Istanbul for 7-8 days in the postoperative period. 

How is our control process and how many times do we need to come to the check?

We check our patients in the 1st month, 3rd month, 6th month and 12th month.

Will my nose be very crooked, curvature again and will my nose tip fall off after surgery?

Nasal curvatures are generally divided into 3, curvatures in cartilage structure, curvatures in bone structure and cases where there is curvature in both structures. It should not be forgotten that in noses where there is curvature in the cartilage structure, these curvatures may not improve 100% and a curvature between 10-20% may reappear. 

In the postoperative period, there is some decrease (rotation loss) at each nasal tip. Therefore, the tip of the nose on the operating table must be lifted 5-6 degrees more than the patient’s request. However, in some cases (such as cartilage weakness, very thick skin), the tip of the nose may fall more than planned. Patients who may experience this situation are given detailed information before surgery.

Can my breathing problems be solved with rhinoplasty?

Your breathing problems due to nasal middle cartilage (septum) curvatures, nasal flesh size or bone curvatures before surgery can be eliminated at the same time with rhinoplasty surgery. However, especially allergy-induced nasal flesh growths may recur. In addition, complaints such as runny nose, itching, watering, nose and face pain do not benefit from this surgery. 

Can I have surgery in the summer?

Rhinoplasty surgery can be performed in any season, but it is important to avoid the heat in the summer months in terms of bleeding, infection and edema.
